Default Need Help Identifying Fluid Leak + Part

I have 2002 A6 Quattro 3.0L automatic with 125k miles with a leak as pictured below. It smells like motor oil, but I am wondering if it is ATF. The leak seems to be coming from that part next to the oil pan pictured below. Also, is this oil pan for ATF or for motor oil?

The black pan in the second picture is your transmission pan. Is the leak coming from it or somewhere else. Maybe you could mark the exact spot that is the source of the leak. If it smells like motor oil, then its probably running down or back from some other spot.

Thanks for the reply Twinturbo! It looks like it is dripping from the part to the left of the ATF pan in the picture below. What is that?
