Default Need help mmi screen turns off and on !

here is the situation i bought an 05 audi a6 with only 30,000 miles damaged and repairing it the battery was dead so when i put in a new battery the mmi home screen come on then shuts off over over again even without the key now the i got the info package on what opions the suppose to have from an audi dealer , and saw on the package it's suppose to have nav now i'm sure the auction people i bought the car from took out the nav unit howeven the only cables i found unhooked where the ones for sat tuner no others . no i did the 3 finger reset and no luck still running in a loop , i figure even with sat unhooked and nav uint gone the mmi still should work is the radio menu screen , car set up etc.. i have ordered a vagcom scanning cables so i get some soem teck data and rest it through vagcom in the mean time is there anything else i should look at.

The nav unit should be in the trunk on the drivers side (US) of the car behind a removable panel. It sounds like the MMI unit is fried. I had the same problem when the car was under warranty and the unit was replaced for free. I have read on some of the Audi forums that people are paying $2500/$3000 to have the MMI units replaced. I would speak to a dealer.

i removed the left side panel only see the amp, the mmi main module bt no nav unit only cables that look like they hook up to sat radio with an optical cable with a optical loop on it , as far as the mmi unit being fried the car has very low miles would the mmi be fried that fast ?

The original MMI unit in my car was fried at about the 18 month mark. I am guessing it had about 20K miles. But with electronics when it decides to go it jusy goes.

I was unable to get the MMI screen to come on. I had no nav, radio, cd, etc. It totally shut down.
