Needing new headlights
My headlights are starting to haze over, and after several times sanding and buffing I'm tired of it.
I'd like to go to a black housing with the r8 led strip, but I can't seem to find a setup that'll work with my factory xenon auto leveling units I have now, auto leveling isn't that important to me but id like to keep factory xenon setup if possible. If not I'll do a hid kit in one of those housings.
anyone know where to get some?
Thanks

Have you ever applied a UV sealer of any sort after the sanding and polishing steps?

After you buff the lights out with your polisher, you wipe down the headlight with denatured alcohol or isopropyl alcohol (to eliminate any compound residue.
Mix the urethane and mineral spirits in a plastic disposable cup. Remember the dilution ration- 1 part to 1 part.
Then, take a blue 'scott' shop rag and fold it up into a 1 inch x 1 inch square. Then dip the rag into the mixture and wipe it on the headlight. Dont use too much or it might run, but start at the top of the light and work side to side. It took me a few times to get my method down, so if you mess up with application, wipe it off with mineral spirits and start over.
This UV sealant dries in 10-20 mins usually and is far superior to any average detail product(paint sealant, wax etc.......)
Its like a clear cote, but you dont spray it, not as messy.
Longevity-The original "creator" of this method told me that he did a headlight restoration with this method about 2 years ago for a customer, and he said it still looks good.

I haven't tried sealing them, it had crossed my mind to clear coat them with Imron elite clear coat but I figure I might as well upgrade to some better lookin lights.
And I haven't seen anywhere that sells just the lenses.

From discussions on other forums, it seems that UV is the root cause of the clouding and discoloration. If you don't have a garage, you may be doomed but one option is to put several coats of car wax (like Turtle wax paste) after cleaning them. The other suggestion about the UV clearcoat has merit, but I haven't tried it. My wife's Mercury is parked outside and I just wax the headlights, and they seem ok after 4 years.
