Default New 98 A6 Quattro

Hello all,
I am planning to buy a 98 A6 Quattro, which has 115K miles on it. Seller told me he changed the timing belt a year ago and water pump 3 weeks ago. Is there anything that I could be careful about when buying the car? Is there any common problems? What do you reccomend in general?

Thanks in advance...

I have a 98 A6 with 130,000 miles, and it still runs great! Common problems that I've experienced would be with the windows not working and the LCD info screen is dead. Other than that, the car is fun! Just had it up in the snow last weekend and it handled better than my Nissan Pathfinder. Good Luck!

I have mine with 114K when i bought it had 81K and passanger window didn't work, i fix it for 120usd.
Thats kind of weird that the water pump has been changed 3 weeks ago. Usually is beeing changed with timming belt.
Take the car to some good German shop for free estimate to get overall info.
How much are You buying it for if i can ask?

I just purchased a 98 Audi A6 Quattro as well. It has 87K on it, but as far as I can tell is in good condition. A German car mechanic told me that I should have my timing belt replaced and also some cam gaskets? I read in the manual that the timing belt should be changed at 90K so I will be having that done. It does have some minor problems though. The window lock button stays in the lock position unless I hold it down, the rear view mirror kept popping loose from the ball so I finally had to glue it in place, and for the first time this morning it didn't want to start. Also what can I do to improve my gas mileage? I drive mostly highway miles and I get about 21.5 miles to a gallon. Is that normal? Is there anything that I should keep an eye out for with this car? I really want this car to last, because despite its minor flaws, I absolutely love it.
