New Car
Hey guys,
I put my car up for sale, and found someone whos buying my 2001 2.7T A6.
I am looking to purchase something similar in power, but not as expensive to maintaine. I know this is a rather bias group to be asking, but can anyone give me some suggestions of cars that can fit this description for under $13k?
I was thinking like a 2004 RX8, but after looking into testomonies and such, they arent fast... just look it.
Thanks for all the help!

This might be a tough bill to fill. My 2.7T's been apart in my garage for the past 2 weeks, so I've been driving the wifes Mazda CX-9 from time to time. It's apparently got 270hp, but I don't know where it keeps them, lol. Sure, ti's got about 400lbs on the Audi, but still, the instant thrust available at any RPM from the 2.7T has spoiled me.
Maybe something like this would be comparable?

Sure...a 2005 Chrysler Crossfire SRT6. A nice two seater with an SLK320 engine and an AMG built supercharger. Puts out about 330hp, 0-60 in 4.6 seconds. Priced in the $16-20k range. Just don't bust the s/c because then it gets as expensive as an Audi. Oh, wait, under $13k. Cheap, reliable, fun, and fast are mutually exclusive.

I'll take a shot at it, too...
If your priority word is "cheap maintenance" (at least cheaper than for the A6), then probably you don't necessarily care about a "step-down", regardless of the way you were spoiled by the 2.7T.
Acura TSXs have a pretty good pep (sportier than the TL) and they don't look bad at all. Also, if I were in your situation, I would definitely look at a Maxima (or an Altima V6). Plenty power off the line, and occasionaly you may run into a manual.
Saab 9.3/9.5 are turbocharged, and even if I don't know much about them I would have a look at them.
If you can find a 2003 G35 for $ 13,500, then definitely you can run into a pretty good used "one of the above" as well.
It all depends on what you're looking to replace it with: a sport sedan, a "family" sedan", a luxurious sporty, etc, etc.
For me, all the cars are about carrying you from point A to point B. If I would have had right now $ 13,000 available I would buy a brand new Elantra... I hope I don't offend anyone for thinking so "cheap" while being a member of this forum tied to a "select brand".
