Default NEW Owner - well 2 weeks now

Greetings from golden CO. I ended up buying an 02 A6 2.7t with sport package(inc seats and bbs rims) and 6 spd manual. Only 19000 miles!! Amulet red with onyx interior. Lux and cold packs!!

I LOVE this car. I nice change from a truck. Just wanted to say hi and ask a couple of ??

I've searched and researched the forums inc Teddyb and nsxjr posts and websites regarding stereo's etc. I was hoping to seamlessly add sirius and Ipod to my Symphony II/Bose system. One item I have not seen reported on is the SPEC USA Ipod adapter (connects via trunk CD connect) - allegedly allows for control of ipod through HU and steering wheel. Also has an additional Aux input - which seems would be great to add Sirius as the 02 is not allegedly open to the "factory" add-on.

Anyone know about 303 motorsports here in colorado? They are a VW/Audi perf tuner shop. I left a message and called numerous times. No response but heard they are good ...

Glad to be here!! Thanks in advance for any advice. (i will take pics and post the ride soon!!)

Why wouldn't you just go with a Phatbox in place of an iPod integration? The Phatbox slots right in to the CD Changer spot and integrates seamlessly with the head unit.

Default Welcome to the club

Very nice ride you've got there -- gotta love the 2.7T when mated to the 6-speed and riding on the sport suspension.

You may want to check out the link in my signature. I've done a considerable amount of research on installing an iPod into an A6 and decided on the IceLink. I've done a comprehensive write-up of this experience (also available here) and, while I'm not a big fan of Denison's user support, I am happy with the resulting install. I'm pretty confident that the IceLink offers the highest level of integration with the OEM headunit. If you want to go with an iPod and a Sirius, the USAspec might be a better option. One catch here... I think you may have to do a dip switch on the USAspec to get it to go back and forth between iPod and AUX. This could be a bit of a drag. Final note here... I highly recommend the folks at www.enfigcarstereo.com -- I'm pretty sure they carry both products, offer excellent over-the-phone user support, and have competitive prices.

As far as the Phatbox goes... They're a nice option if the only reason you want to go MP3 is to have it in your car. If you want your MP3 player to be what it really can be -- the backbone of your music in your life (in your car, attached to your home stereos, in your pocket on a hike, etc.) -- the iPod is the way to go.

Good luck!

Southboro

Thanks much. I looked at Phatbox, but I travel for work, run, bike, go to gym, mow the yard etc... all with the ipod, so phatbox for me is not a consideration. I will gladly look at your thread on the icelink. Again, thanks for a thoughtful response!!

? for you - have you modded your 2.7t 6M? (chip, flash or other?)

Cheers

I've done a few mods, including adding an extra 12V AUX outlet under the armrest, fold-down bag hooks in the trunk (you have them standard on the 2002), fog light rewire so that they operate as running lights, recode of the central locking module so that all doors unlock with a single click of the remote, and upgraded the wheels to 17x8 BBS RKs. My signature on AudiWorld.com (same screenname) includes links to all of these.

Future mods I'd like to do include the following:
- H-Sport sway bars (supposed to be one of the best bangs for the buck, even with the sport suspension)
- Painting of the calipers
- hardwiring of the Passport

I'm happy with the power I've got now and would rather not tax the turbos. As such, no plans to chip.
