Question Newbie maintenance and reliability

I'm considering my first Audi A6 - either a new 2016 A 2.0T Quattro or a certified 2015 A6 2.0T Quattro. Since I'm new to Audi (have owned BMW and Infinity) I'm wondering what others have experience insofar as maintenance and reliability issues. BMW killed me with maintenance issues. Infinity has been totally maintenance free. What about Audi? Thanks.

My experience with Audi reliability has changed from poor when I owned model years before 2000. The disruptive issues disappeared for my 2012 A4 Avant, 2013 A6 and my present 2014 A6.

It has been my good fortune with these later cars to have had no failures of any kind. Thus, I am extremely pleased with the quality builds of power, performance, technology and comfort these cars provide.

I have no complaint regarding Audi maintenance requirements, schedules or costs. They are in-line or better with other quality automobile brands I have owned.

Shepsan, that 3.0T is sweet looking. If only they still offered an MT6.

Audi reliability is way up, but still not on a par with the premium Asian cars. I cannot tell you why not. But I had relatively few issues with my 2003 A6 and A4 (236k, 124k respectively) and my 2011 has been problem free over the 10k that I have driven her. My best advice is to overdue the preventive maintenance as it is a lot less costly than repairs.

ppgoal, I concur. My 3.0T is sweet looking. I also agree with you about the other things upon which you commented.

Cars have been one of my passions. I have owned forty brands and models since 1952. They have been both domestic and foreign made.

Since the year 2000, the quality and reliability of all of cars have been superb. My thinking about today’s luxury cars is that they remain reliable if and when they are driven sensibly and properly maintained.
