Alright, so I am the new owner of a 04' A6 3.0. I now notice that the DIS is not showing the outside temp display at all. The DIS is in full working order, it will show other things on that same middle line, but the outside temp does not show. It may show for a split second when I first start the car, however it reads -49F which is not correct. So my guess would be a bad sensor? I did locate the G17 sensor in front of the radiator, it wasn't in its housing so I moved it back in there, but still no luck. I tried to trace the wires but could not see them after they go back under the radiator.

So what is my best course of action? Also, why wouldn't the DIS just display the incorrect temp. for a broken sensor? I'm also not getting any CELs. I just figured if it were a bad sensor the DIS would continuously display -49F, but it just doesn't show anything. Any ideas would be great. I am not a car noob, but have only owned Acuras before this.. so this German stuff may take some getting used to. Any help would be great, thanks!
