Default Oil change

I'm trying to find out what type of oil I should use for my 2004 2.7t s line. I used 10-30 for the 2.8 but wasn't sure if it's different with the turbo.
Thank you

I looked in my manual.... It said 5-40. That's kinda hard to find in synthetic. Also at walmart some odd name brand had 5-40 motor oil but it said diesel truck. It's confusing and I would rather do it my self than take it to the dealer.I checked out ESC Tuning and came across a kit http://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-C5_A6-...e_Kits/ES1521/ . I think i'm gonna order it on Monday. Its says OEM?!?! If anyone has used this particular oil before your feedback will be greatful. Thanks for your input.

lol @ walmart
that kit is pretty straight forward teh filtr is oem but if ur alreadyy putting the money up for it id get this one
http://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-C5_A6-...e_Kits/ES8036/

it comes with the magnetic plug instead of the normal one....(just to be on the safe side...)

i didnt use this oil but ecs has a huge section of different oils u can get 5w40 from pretty much any oil company out there on ecs... and then get the filter and plug seperatly (might run 10-20 bucks more then the kit if u do it that way)

0w-40 or 10w-40 will work just fine as long as its synthetic. The first number is cold flow rating which only matters on startup. Any good synthetic will flow when cold so the first number just needs to be close.

Mobile 1 makes a 5-40 synthetic that they list as diesel/truck oil but it is just fine to use. Rotella also makes a 5-40 synthetic.

I run Mobil1 0w-40in the winter and 5w-40 in the summer. Have 188k on the odo and change it every 7-8k. You want those turbos to get enough oil upon startup in cold weather, and viscosity is critical.

Synthetic Oil
Audi dealers use Castrol Syntec 5W-30 that has better MPG than the Mobil-1 0W-40.
They both are great motor oil for A6.
