hi all, been reading the forum for a good while now, and its helped this old 2.7 owner on quite a few occasions so thankyou all for that, but, as you probably guessed, i have joined the forum today to ask for info on a problem im having at the moment, and its this... i have an 2001 a6 2.7t, which has a boost leak im told, something to do with banks 1 and 2?, so with the info gleaned from here and other audi forums i replaced the throttle body hose, the old one doesnt appear to have a rip, but never mind, lol, and replaced the dvs today with 710n's, now the passenger side dv (im in the uk) was very oily, while drivers side was not, what problem / fault, does this signify please?
thanks guys

hi bob, thanks for replying m8, by, change everything else first, i take it you mean the pipework yes?, the cars done roughly 128000 now and im pretty sure its on original turbos, so they maybe at the end of there life ay,lol, as replacements, k04s seem to be the way to go, but £700 and! fitting, would be a problem just yet, take me a while to save that, but i'd get there, lol, yea, thanks for the info bob, much appreciated

To locate your Spyder Pipe (local spelling may differ), pop open your hood, look at your engine, located the silver y-pipe on top and in the center of the engine, look towards the rear on the driver's side you will see a black plastic lump sticking off the side of the y-pipe. This is part of the spyder pipe. The rest winds it's way to the back of the intake manifold and to each head. It loads up with oil, gets clogged, then causes the carnkcase to pressurize which pushes oil out of the seals and valve cover gaskets and into the intake. Takes a bit to replace but not too bad, as far as an Audi goes. Normally done, as I understand it, after 100,000 miles.
Good luck,
Bob

thanks for that info bob, just want you to know i appreciate your time and knowledge, i will look into the spiderpipe, with a view to cleaning it or renewing it, actually, i took the car to an audi specialist today here in stoke on trent, www.psituning.com, they got the vag on it and the guy found a pipe that appeared to not be pushed all the way on, (up near the bulkhead)they cleared the codes and test drove it afterwards and all seems to be fine now, hopefully, but yea, definitely going to look at the spiderpipe because for my piece of mind i want to know its clean, or il never sleep, lol, oh also the 710a diverter valves that were on the car before i changed to 710n, the guy at psi told me how to check em, push the spring up and put a finger over the hole on the top and the spring should stay there, on both of the 710a's, it didnt stay up, so looks like they were knackered anyway, yea, thanks a lot bob, look forward to your help again, im sure il be needing it,lol
