Default Oil pressure problems

I just changed my oil on my 1996 a6 quattro, and decided to go to "extended mile" synthetic oil. Since then on my information center on my dash the oil pressure picture keeps showing up anytime I take off from a stop sign ect. Also the oil pressure gauge stays at "60" and never moves from the bottom of the gauge. There are no knocks or anything and the engine seems to run ok, I just don't want to blow the engine. Anyone know whats going on? Is synthetic too thick for the oil pump ?

PLEASE HELP!!!

The V6 engines almost never suffer from sludge, have a mechanic check the oil pressure and verify its ok, if its alright replace the oil pressure sender. I've replaced a few of those before.
