Default Opinions: Dinan M5 VS moded 2.7t

This is my first post ever on any forum and I apologize for my "Noobness". Anyway to the question, Iam curious as to everyones opinions on the comparison of the dinan s2 and s3 m5 e39(for those that are unaware of what that exactly means, the Dinan S2 is nothing more than a package of upgrades like headers, exhaust, chip, intake, upgraded suspension, and other minor mods to the m5 (e39=1998-2003) which produce 470hp. S3 is a package that includes everything that the S2 has plussuperchargers and other minor mods that produces roughly 650hp. The cost for these packages are S2-$29K and the S3 is $50K plus. Go to http://www.dinanbmw.com/for more details) to a moded 2.7t.

Now My question is do you think a heavily moded 2.7t can hang or beat either of these cars. and if so whatmods would be needed.I am well aware of the debate of the S6 and rs6 to the m5's but that is not the situation. I only want to compare the m5's and the 2.7t moded.

The guys over at vast have a6's well in the territory of 450+ to the wheels and I am thinking with an awd we should at least be able to keep up with the S2 m5 but IMO if the upgrades are done right and thoroughly enough we could even take the S3. Vast has s4's doing like 750hp so why not us. If this is a stupid question I apologize but I think this is a good comparison and would be fun to hear everyones opinions. Thanks.

Nowafter hours of searching the forum on this topic I have come up with nothing so if this post is somewhere else please pointme in that direction and I will be much obliged

Stage 2+ will still be slower.
You'll need stage 3 to beat it by a good margin IMO (Ko4s, supporting hardware, fueling kit, Intercoolers, exhaust, DP...)

Let's see....

Buy a used M5 and then add either an S2 for + $29k or an S3 for + $50k.

Versus a used A6 2.7T and add the K04's plus goodies for $8-10k.

A quick check of KBB for2003 vehicles in excellent condition with 60k miles: M5 at $39355 and A6 2.7T MT6 at $20480. So you're trying to compare an $89k BMW to a $30k A6. IMHO, if you have $89k to **** away on a BMW you might as well buy a used Viper and beat them both.

I completely agree with everyone as far as the money aspect. I agree that the money invested in the m5 plus the cost to mod iscrazy, thats why I am an audi ownerBut I am curious as to what mods it would take to beat that $90K car with a 2.7t (if at all possible).

The guys over at vast performance are awesome and they told me that their is a way to get the hp into the 500+ area with the right mods. So I was thinking that a 500hp AWD could easily beat a 500hp rear wheel drive (i may be wrong thats why Im asking).

RS6 w/ a 6MT would **** on any sedan out there. Swap K04's for biagio's or some other BT. If I had an $80k budget that would be my car since you can find a used one for 45-50k. 40k of mods is a good margin. Easily take it to 1000awhp.

It is very possible, plus I hear the guys at VAST are researching a Stage 4 and also GT level for the 2.7t. That would be quite interesting.

I'd say stage 3 it, then see how you think it stacks up, and if need be, get on their a** to make you something never done before.... like that 4.2 with an S8 motor in it!
