Default P0741 Code, high RPM

I have a 2000 A6 4.2 V8, it has close to 190,000 miles. I've been getting this code more and more frequently. It used to be every 50 miles, now it's every 10 or so. I've changed the tranny fluids and filter less then 5,000 miles ago. All I get now is when it shifts at 2.4-5 rpm instead of 2.1, can anyone tell me what is might be the problem?

Also, now when idling it will will fluctuate only 100 rpm when cold.

I took it in and they said it's most likely the Clutch Solenoid but they're not sure. And it's so difficult to find a rebuilt or new solenoid for the year and model, any ideas?

Guys please, I really would like some help before it blows and I have to scrap the car.
