I have a 2001 A6 w 4.2L. The rear parking assist started to beep and it stopped working. I scanned it and the following came up. does anyone have any experience with a similar issue? does anyone know how to repair it. Thank you in advance

On my '02 allroad 6MT the rear park assist beeps regardless of gear selected - even neutral. I was also alerted to the fact that my back-up lights are on regardless of gear choice.

If anyone has thoughts on a remedy, please advise.
