I parked my car did not apply the handbrake i came back five minutes later tried to start it the park brake light is on and the car will not start at all. This is the first time this happened. The car does have error code p2006 and p2007 due to some engine issue. The engine is not giving more than 200 miles on a full tank. That is due to some evap leak. But mainly the car is not starting it just says parking brake malfunction and not start which is weird. I am a noobie this is my first post so please any help would be kindly appreciated its

I am having the same issue with my 09 A4. The car wont start or turn over at all and the Parking brake malfunction comes on. I get a buzzing sound in the dash too. The code comes back as a low battery but the battery was replaced and it didnt fix the problem. Did you ever figure it out what the problem was?

 

Check your alternator. There's tons of youtube videos on how to check the voltage. Had a similar problem with my 09 A4, but there was no check engine light on. I replaced it myself( $75 part from salvage yard) . That solved the problem
