Default Passenger Mirror Reverse Actuation

After a week at the dealer, my passenger mirror will finally tilt down when the car is put in reverse. The only problem is, it won't return to the normal position once I put the car in drive. If I move the mirror switch back to the "center" selection, the passenger mirror moves back correctly.

Is there some setting I can check to make sure it actuates correctly, or am I forced to back to the dealer AGAIN to get this fixed.

Thanks!

Just curiosity, is this a feature only in auto transmissions, or does it also exist with manual transmissions? I've got a manual and the mirror doesn't move when I put it in reverse.

Its on my 05 4.2 AT. I believe that gtpr also has a C6. I don't know if the option was available on the C5.

I do have a C6.

It's going back to the dealer as my Homelink stopped working. Checked the fuse and it's OK. No lights when I push any of the buttons.....

Even the original (1995) 2.8 L A6 model AT suppose to have it, but it works I believe only if the right (passenger side) control button is depressed. When moving the gearshift in Reverse, the mirror should tilt slightly downwards so you can see the curb edge when parking.
I haven't tried it yet, as I wasn't aware of it. However, I always keep the passenger side mirror tilted down anyway, expressely for backing-up/parking purpose. Moreover, I doubt I would take the car to a dealership if the feature quit working. I think it's a feature that you can easily go without... and save the diagnosis/repair funds for something more important...

I have an '01 w/ 6spd maunal. It DOES tilt when the switch is selected to the passenger side mirror and the car is put into reverse.

I have the premium and cold weather package. Maybe its associated with a certain package?

Make sure the switch on the console is switched to the passenger side mirror.

Chefro,
Do you not think you should go to the dealer for such a thing as a non-tilting mirror because it is too little to worry about? If it is under warranty, there is NOTHING too picayune to have attended to. They warrant it, they will fix it.

Else, why pay FOR a warranty?

Cheers,

George
