Piggie Pipes or these Chrome ones?
I am looking to upgrade my exhaust and it seems that Vast's piggie pipes are the way to go, at least from most of the reading in this forum. I found these chrome pipes on Ebay that are in the same price range.
Do these look familiar or does anyone know anything about these Chrome ones? Which should I buy?

Hey Jonathan,
I am Sam and I own a stage 3 audi which I have piggy pipes on. Although they work great I honestly wish I got real downpipes. The piggy pipes (stock piping) are only about 2.25 inner diameter which is good flow but I wish it was a little more open. One for a little more sound and two for a little more flow. I haven't had any flow problems currently but in theory it would help. Either way you can't go wrong with the piggy pipes. I would just replace your flex pipe while doing this with a straight pipe. This can avoid some issues later with the flex joint breaking. It is a little tricky if you do this though because you will have to weld around the tranny and the subframe. Or you can use clamps which will link the bars. I can load a clip for you if you would like, I have piggy pipes with nothing other than the APR cat backs.

I think the piggy pipes sound like the way to go. These chrome pipes are about the same diameter. The person I bought the car from ran straight pipe from the main Cat back to the mufflers.
I think I’m going to try and make these piggy pipes myself, found a great DIY. http://www.audizine.com/forum/showthread.php?t=231301
Should I also gut the main cat? Or will that make it too loud or is it too difficult to get to? Or am I better off just running straight pipe from the bottom of the down pipe?
Anyway, thanks for the info and any other suggestions are appreciated. I’m looking to start this project in a few weeks, so I’m trying to do my homework.

I had my piggy pipes done at my audi dealer by my tech. I mean it isn't to hard other than beating it the pipes open haha You can DYI if you are able to pull the DP's off. My car doesn't sound that loud at all and I have nothing other than APR Cat backs. I would also cut the main cat or cut the main cat. That was my mistake and I lacked some real nice sound / power. I can send a clip like i said previously if you want to hear the car opened up from idle and driving. Good luck with your project.

yeah, send me a clip. Once I cut off the main cat, there's no going back....at least not easily.
Thanks,
