Hi, I just bought a 2003 a6 quattro with a 3.0 engine, the car starts fine but when I press on the gas it barely moves and stays around 2,000rpm's even with the gas pedal fully pressed. Once the car gets up to around 40mph it starts to accelerate like a normal car and drives perfect on the freeway. Does anybody know what can be causing this poor acceleration at low speeds?

 

do you have a check engine light or checked for codes?

have you done the normal things, coil pack, sparks etc?
