possible A6 purchase
Hi all,
I'm completely new to the car world. All I've ever had are Wranglers or Trucks.
I'm looking for a comfortable sedan and I've come across a 2000 Aude A6 for 9300
The car is a 4.2 V8 with all wheel drive, sunroof and I'm guessing all the options.
110k miles.
Is this a good car? What types of things should I ask about? What type of mileage should I expect?
Are these a good car from the insurance perspective?
also, if this isn't a reliable car, my other choice is a new style honda accord. The most I wanna spend would be 15k but would prefer to spend 10. Any other reccos in this area?
Thanks so much,
Matt
PS the car is missing a hubcap (17" wheels) are these expensive to replace?

No way to tell if the TB has been changed through inspection. Get the service records from the dealership or the repair invoice. The 4.2l has the reputation of being more reliable than the 2.7T (because it does not have turbos), but you face all the other potential andtypical Audi problems from transmissions to front suspension to exhaust. None of this stuff is cheap to fix.
Take the time to go through the car yourself. Read the owner's manual and test every one of the zillions of bells and whistles with which your luxury sedan is equipped. Make sure radio, windows, seats, A/C, mirrors, etc. all work and reduce the price accordingly.
Your best insurance is finding a knowledgeable, reputable shop and pay for a full inspection. It should only be around $100 and you may find your futurerepair guy at the same time.
