Doubt it, It's probably one of the ICM's a lot of people have startup issues when they go bad.

I drove an Altima for more than a year with the ICM disconnected. I replaced it one time and went bad after lesss than 14 months (has only 1 yr warranty).

The gas mileage suffered by about 2 mpg, but the car ran fine without it.

Anyway, the car should be able to start without it.

To OP, check your Ignition Control Modules.

Well I would check to see if this was bad possibly if I knew where the ECM was...

I don't know where that is on the car. I've looked it up in the manual, but it doesn't identify it.

Update on the problem. I researched about what can happen if you have a problem starting your car after you put in a new battery or if you've jumped the battery a lot previously.

So I went in the fuse box took out all the fuses and connections, checked them put them back in tightly and the car starts now.

Now my MIL light is on when my car runs (which could indicate a problem with Emission Control or Electronic Speed Limiter). I've had this light come on once before about a year ago, and the light cut off after about 2 weeks. The manual says you have to get your car checked if the light starts blinking, which it has never done.

After I get my tax return I'll probably take the car in and get it diagnosed and new tires and everything just to limit the problems.

Buying a $50 OBD reader would be cheaper than going to a mechanic. If you have a laptop and some more money, consider vag-com.

I'll probably look into buying one. Got in any tips on where to get one?

I found a bunch of these where you don't need a laptop. Would these work?
