Default Problem...

well yesturday my 99 2.8 Qtip A6 over heated. The temp warning came on so i pit it in the shade and got some water. came back with the water and noticed it was leaking. it looks to be somewherenear the front middle of the car probably over the oil pan as it was driping down off the oil pan. In advicwe or suggestions before i take it in the the shop.

Could be as simple as a hose or as complicated as a head gasket. I suggest opening up the hood, starting the car and taking a good look (safety glasses, in case it is a small puncture in the radiator). Take a looksee. You maybe able to do it yourself, or start saving for a big bill...

Depending on the mileage and previous MX done, you may want to go ahead and do the timing belt and water pump.

If it's coming from the front middle of the car it could be your water pump. If that's the case, you might as well have the thermostat, timing belt, and accessories belt replaced as well while you're in there.

lose hose clips/ water pump/ split water hose/ just didn't have enough coolant in there in the first place?? not being funny but it happens
