Default Problem after removed cluster.

Can somebody please help me? I removed my instrument cluster today to put GPS satellite for my GPS. I disconnected the plugs from the instrument cluster. After I finished connecting all the cable, i put the cluster back in and try to start the car. When I put the key in ignition, it said "apply foot on clutch peddle to start" I never have this warning before. I have an 02 A6 2.7, automatic. Have anyone ever experienced this before? Any idea why it does this? Please help.

I wouldcheck your connections in the back of the instrument cluster to make sure everything is connected properly. I would guess that one of the connectors (for the tiptronic) is not snapped into place correctly, which would tell the car that it is a tiptronic, and give you the correct message about placing foot on brake to shift out of park.

Edit: There should be three connectors back there (green, gray, and blue)

Thank for your reply. I checked the connectors to make sure everything snap in place, but it still said the same thing.I checked all the wires to make sure it not loose, everything seem in place. Do you know which one is for tiptronic?

It's fixed now. You were right, it was the connectors. The green connector wasn't in right. Thank for your help.
