Default Problem with EBC Slotted & Drilled Sport rotors

I installed EBC Slotted & Drilled Sport rotors (along with their Red Stuff pads) on my 2006 A6. They work great (stop the cars if I hit them hard) but I started to get a feeling from them, when the brakes were pressed medium hard, that made me wonder if one or more of them might be warped. I had it into my mechanic and he noticed it and said it's the high performance rotors. That there was nothing wrong with them that they are like that?
Does anyone else have these and is this the way they are. It sounds and feels awful when I brake.

Thanks.

Pat

Hey there, if you mean the "whooshing" sound its due to the slots etc and can be a bit of a PITA I guess, but, jeesh they STOP the car!!

Default Problem with EBC Slotted & Drilled Sport rotors

Hi Blackeda6 & Jimc64,

Thanks for getting back. I think I'm talking about what Blackeda6 is saying. They sound terrible at slower speeds but do work great when I really need to stop. It is not the whooshing sound Jinc64 is talking about. It is an on and off pulsating sound like the rotors were warped. It's really awful. Even though the rotors are almost new I feel like getting rid of them and going back to the stock ones.

Pat -
A lot of people make the mistake of getting high performance parts when standard stuff works OK for their application. There is usually a trade off between performance and comfort - noise - effort etc. If the pulsing is in the pedal they are warped but if it just noise it is to be expected.

Thanks NH_USA, you should have said make the stupid mistake!!

I can definitely feel a thumping when I apply them. My mechanic, who is an Audi specialist, says that's the way they are?

Live and learn!
