I'm trying to buy a 2008 A6 and apparently new dealers are offering a "Aged Inventory Credit" on vehicles that have been on their lot for over 6 months. Is there any way to tell what - I know how to get year - the car was manufacutred?

Also, are there any gotchas with the 08 3.2's to be aware of? I wish it had a little more power but overall the car is great. I'm trading a 01 2.7T Q - not the same engine but 255hp is enough for me.

 

Look on the tag on the b-pillar. It will state the month of manufacture.

The best Audis are well aged - so I will buy no Audi before its time - like a good wine.

In my case - at least 8 years..

One the other hand - Beer is best when fresh..

Old Audi - young beer
Old guy - young -" never mind'

 

There used to be a VIN decoder that specified build date & location + all options.
But it seems that it has disappeared

 

Month of manufacture won't be in the VIN, only year. The month is on the tag on the b-pillar.

Which one corresponds to the month?
