Angry Programing the Home Link

If you have a Genie with the rolling codes getting it programed to the A6 (2013) is more difficult than it seems. There is an additional step you need to take and it took me over 30 mins of screwing around to get it. After the remote is programed you need to wait until the light on the opener starts blinking real fast and THEN hit the button in the car and hold it. Impossible to do by yourself. Most cars you hold the door opener inside the car not outside.
Hope I never have to do it agin.

Homelink has to be the single most aggravating feature on cars today. Our old Chevy minivan took 30 seconds to program. Same with my wife's Lexus. My mom's Buick took me hours to get and now my 2004 A4 is kicking my ***.

I have an old fashioned toggle switch type receiver on my opener and can't seem to get it.

I do not have a manual for the car, can anybody confirm if I should be pointing my opener at the homelink unit in the visor, or the middle of the front bumper, or maybe a headlight?

Homelink is an option I really don't need but at this point it's become a matter of principal.

Thanks, I'll try it.

They say to point the transmitter at the center of the bumper, probably the one place I didn't try.

It took me for ever to get it right. I am not even sure how I got it done. Followed the directions a bunch of times. With every other car you point the remote at the Homelink inside the car. Why the hell does Audi have you running to the front of the car I do not know. This is the second wort feature on the car. The most annoying is the bluetooth phone trying to download my phonebook every time I get in the car.... it requests over and over and over again.
