Default Question about memory seats

Hello all. I just took delivery of a new 2011 A6. This is my first Audi (coming from a BMW 3-Series) and I have a question about the memory seat settings.

I have no trouble storing the positions, but I'm wondering if I'm missing something...

...Is is it normal to have to HOLD DOWN the button the whole time until the seat is into position? In my BMW, I would just tap the button and the seat would move into position. Is this possible on my Audi? (did a search...no luck)

Push the button that you used for your settings before you close the door. This is works if the door wasn't locked and everything was moved.

It should also work with the key fob unlock button, if the door was locked and everything was in a setting other than what your key fob is set to, (Your wife drove, changed everything, and locked the door without putting it back) and be in your stored position or on the way to it as you open the door.

Well that the way it works for my 2003 A6 atleast.

Yes. It is rather annoying.

Well, I think I found what I was looking for.

If the door is open and the key is in the ignition, the seats will move to the presets with only a touch. Door closed, you gotta hold the button the whole time.

Reason I asked is because I'm in a wheelchair and have to use one setting for a "Load/Unload" and one for "Driving." Having to hold the button the whole time was making my load/unload times about triple what they were with my BMW.

Not ideal, but works. Hopefully Audi will steal that design cue from BMW.
