i just wanted to say hi
im new here
mainly im here for my dad as he is the owner
and this particular owners kryptonite happens to be computers
but anyways down to business

what the hell is this thing?
im a car guy and i can rebuild anything american
but for the life of me i cannot figure out what this is.
so any help in this would be greatly appreciated

It isn't anything but a cover on the U.S models, in europe i think thats where the adaptive cruise control is mounted. The only real way to figure out what it is is to remove the bumper cover and see whats behind it, my guess would be nothing.

If it's anything like the Porsche's, and I think it is, it is a cover for the tow hook. Beneath that cover should be a tow hook for securing the car on a flat bed with a winch should the car not be able to move on its own.

 

I thought the tow hook was only on the rear of the German cars. To get a definitive answer, pick up the phone and ask the dealer rather than having us guess. That's even easier than pulling off the cover to look underneath.
