Default Radio is stuck on "safe"

Jumped the A6, now the radio is stuck on safe and wont turn on.I don't have the code for the radio. Anyone know any inexpensive solutions to this problem?

I don't think there is a cheap fix. You have to take it to a dealer to unlock it.

No cheap fix --
Look in the glove box or owners manual for the radio card.
Some folks think some dealers writes the code in the trunk sometimes so I'd look around a bit.
Also look under the hood - you might get lucky.
If you find it make a speedy trip to the local lottery office and play the first number you think of.

When you win remember me cause I could use a new car.

Call Audi of America. They will ask for your VIN and serial number off the radio and they will give you the code for free.....

When I bought my 99 A6 back in June the radio was locked and after hearing about that on one of the forums I called Audi of America Customer relations. They registered me as the owner of the vehicle, asked for vin and radio serial number. Audi said it would take a few days to look up info but they called me back in less than 48hrs with the code.

The Audi reps on the phone have been helpful when I have called them, I would try that option.
