1999 A6 2.8: Hoping someone can help me- I have a rattle coming from the rear pass side- I was under the car and noticed the gas line located between the Gas Filter and Tank was not clamped in- so I push it back into the white plastic clamp (pressure clamp)- I have done this 4x and it keeps coming out- Any reco is welcome as this noise is irritating (is there a replacement clamp, etc..)- Also, is there a specific reason why this would all of sudden start popping out- the line is tight. I tried searching for this problem and came up empty.

Little bit of duct tape never hurts anyone.

 

im sure there is a replacement clamp, u can probably call your nearest dealer and they can order you one if its not in stock,or if you have a napa autoparts store near you or something like it (i dont recommend autozone unless u really must) you can always order the clamp from them too, as to way it suddenly just happened, the car is 9yrs old, little things just start to happen lol or maybe you went over a jump just a little too fast and 100 other things that gave it that last nudge to start coming loose lol

 

I forgot to mention, duct tape was applied the third & fourth time- Also, the dealer is having trouble finding a replacement clamp. Next, I'll replace the fuel line (rubber) as the dealer mentioned that the hose looses it rigidity over time so it's probably not retaining it's shape and squeezing out over the slightest bump-

 

thats funny that the dealer is having trouble finding a replacement...when they normally just order anything they dont have lol, i just ordered air filter clips for my car...now that seems like an odd thing you think to order and they would have trouble finding...nope, 2 days later here i am with them lol

 

Well next option after the duct tape is zip tie.
