Default Really happy with my A6

I know from visiting the A6 forums, I often see posts dealing with mechanical failures and reliability issues that scare current and prospective owners. I was a little put off by this myself and was really close to selling my car. Then I realized something; this is by far the nicest car I have ever owned. I love the way this car drives. I finally got off the fence and decided I am keeping this car for a while. I got the timing belt service done, and my mechanic said my car is still in great condition. For a six year old car, I have no squeaks or rattles. It feels like the car is still less than two years old- it is really solid. My wife likes my car so much, she wants to join the Audi family and get an A4 when her lease is up. I have had no issues with my car, and have only had to perform routine maintenance. The A6 is very versatile, and fun to drive. I take my 9'6" surf board to the beach on my thule roof rack. The trunk is huge, and has more storage than my wife's BMW X5. The car is a total sleeper too! I love the performance of this unassuming sedan.

I'm with you, man. Take reasonably good care of it, don't abuse it, and it should run a long time. I've found it very reliable considering mine has done 81k of mostly winter driving. I'm keeping it for a long time, and just bought a 2003 A4 3.0 MT-6 for my daughter.

Yeah, even my '99 A6q is amazing and feels just like new, not to mention it is just as technologically advanced as current american cars.
