Hi, after reading tons on recoding the tranny to sports mode, and having it able to hold 1st gear in tip mode using code 00032, or 00030 in other cars, I bought the vag-com cable from ebay. My stock code was 00000, and I tried to recode it, but I wasn't able to recode it to anything except to 00010. None of the other #s worked at all. I tried both 00030, 00020, 00032, 01032, 01030, but It won't take any codes except the 00010 or 00000. I'm wondering if any one else had this issue. Apparently it's not an issue of correct codes, does any one know how to make this work? I'm driving a 2000 a6 2.8 quattro by the way.

just a guess....
but perhaps you're viewing in binary mode? in which case
00010 = 2
100000 = 32
11110 = 30


just throwing ideas out there.

 

No, it actually wouldn't take that big of a #. 5 numbers are the max amt. thanks though. Has any one else had this happen and was able to fix it. PLEASE

mine def wasnt straight zeros before recoding to 01032

try 01032 see if that works

 

All right I just read something on the forums that says I need to go into adaptation and change the last 2 #s to 32. What I've been doing is going to recode then changing the soft code, but not adaptation. Which of these is correct? I'm using vag-com of course.

 

I was going to ask this question as well - my tranny code was also 00000 when i looked at it, haven't gotten around to mess with it (nor do i want to really unless i know something for sure).
