Red Coolant?
I just got a used 2001 Audi, A6, 4.2. Damn glad I did.
I just got an oil change from a mechanic, of course I brought my own oil filter and had them used synthetic oil, and he noticed my coolant level was low. When he was finished he told me that he went ahead and filled up the coolant tank. He said he put the same color coolant that was already in there. He advised me that as long as you put the same color coolant in the tank you should be fine.
My question is does it matter what type of coolant I should use?I'm sure the owner's manualsays to use a specific type of coolant that you could only get from your local Audi dealer, but as long as you use a red coolant I am safe?

ask what type of coolant (brand ) he used..
u should only use "Pentosin" coolant... I grab some from Audi or VW dealership...
local autozone / pepboys etc. wont carry it...
** its not only about matching coolant color ! !
