I work in composites like casting and mold making, do you thing making a mold of the clips, and casting it is a better material, would maybe extent the life of the clip? seems like a badly engineer thing?
Im down to try?

i dont think its the material they are using its the design flaws. because they seem to break a only one spot...and it usually at the weakest sport they only have a 1mm thick platisc wall taht the cable pulls on....so if they double the thickness it would solve the problem.

ECS tuning has it for about $5 a pop. Dealer carries them for about $7.50 a pop.

You're looking for Window Guides

Buy them here: http://www.ecstuning.com/stage/edpd/...engine=V6+3.0L

Install How-to: http://www.audiworld.com/tech/int45.shtml

So, just to re-iterate: No one, including Audi, sells new guides for the rear windows, and my only option in a junkyard? And I would assume I need my year, or would any 98-04 have the same ones?

Sounds like you need a new master window switch. I have a 2000 2.7 and I had the same problem. Sometimes you can take the switch out and clean the contacts and it will fix the problem, but most times you have to replace the switch. Good luck.

you can often find these for sale on ebay in the UK. The last ones I bought were about £12 and were better quality than the original ones that came with the car!!

There's your niche on the market!!!

I wonder if you can make'm from some fiber-reinforced composite. You can start selling them on EBay, or go right after the parts stores that carry the plastic S*&&^%.

[QUOTE=katcoota;600194]Same problem here. In my case it is the actual unlock-lock button. If I hold the unlock button down, the rear windows re-gain control, if that makes sence. Unfortunately the whole driver's side control unit needs replacing which is not cheap, so I've left it.

this is simple and cheap to fix, ebay has this part for 30.00 with shipping you will have to get it from sigapore but the part is the same you get from audi for 180.00. installation is 5 minutes.
