Default Replace Radio on 1995 A6

Hello,

My stock factory Bose radio deck is broken so I'm trying to replace it with a new one with an AUX input and just bypass the 6-CD changer (which is also broken).

Does the stock radio have a built-in power-amplifier or is it seperate? Will I need to cut all the wires and attach a new wiring harness, or can I get some kind of harness adapter?

Any suggestions on a deck which will be compatible?

I am a complete Noob. So all tips are appreciated!

Gamma CC

Audi part # 4A0 035 192
Alpine part # 4D0 035 111 6-disc CD Changer

Hi! In my Audi A6 94 - the radio (Gamma CC by Panasonic) was working with an external amplifier located in a trunk between speakers.

Newer radios typically have built-in amp and therefore you have to by pass the amp! Also Gamma is a different size than 1 din standard, so you might look for plastic stubs to fit the new radio.

thanks Maxim.

Anyone know about the wiring? Are they standard color coded or do I need a wiring diagram?

Again, if you connect the new radio out to amp in - it will burn the amp (assuming the new radio has pre-amp outs)

Check with Crutchfield.com. I have been a Crutchfield customer/fan since 1980. When you buy your stereo from them you receive a FREE high quality wiring harness adapter as well as a complete color coded wiring diagram. They may even offer a dash kit to clean up the installation.
