Hey guys,

I had my 4.2 sitting in the garage for a while and started it up just yesterday.

For some reason the stereo wont turn on. The battery in the car is pretty much dead ( been dead for a while, but too lazy to just change it out ) but after charging it and running it for a while it has enough juice to get me around.

In the past though even if i had to jump the battery to get my car started the stereo would still turn on, now however, it just wont turn on. I checked the fuse and that seems to be ok.

Any ideas as to what other issues there could be or tests i should run?
any help would be great.

Hmmm.... Does it light up? Do your door chimes work?

 

yes, the door chimes work but the stereo does not light up in terms of the middle LED when i hit the button nor does the background light up when everything else is red ( at night).

 

Use a volt meter to see if you get power to where the fuse is. If so, could be the power button itself. Although the buttons should light up even with it off.
