Default Replacing Front Struts - Bilstein or Koni?

Found out Friday that my front left strut is blown and the right has become very weak. Actually at 100K the entire suspension is starting to become very sloppy. Anyway I have a 2004 A6 Q2.7T with the sport suspension option. I was wondering if there's a preference between these two brands?

The shop recommended KYB-GRs. I prefer the Koni's or Bilstein's - what has been recommend are the Koni FSD's or Bilstein Sports. I plan on keeping the springs that came with the OE sport option.

I have Been very happy with my Koni FSDs. They improved both the ride and the handling.

Same here. Koni FSD has made me very happy but I can't say anything about the Bilstein's since I never had them ... The Bilstein Control arms are good though :P

Had GR-2s on another car and they were OK. I think its a case of you get what you pay for. I'm looking to do mine and am leaning towards the FSDs because of the good press they get such as the above.

Good luck,

Bob
