Default Replacing Serpentine & timing belts

Upon a recent service appointment at the Audi dealer in the bay area for my 2004 A6 4.2L quattro, the recommendation was to replace the timing and all other belts for an estimate of over 3K, i have 37K miles on the car and the dealer indicated that at over 6 years it is highly recommended to replace the belts as they are showing signs of cracks, i am open to any suggestions on service shops who can be more reasonable, but i would like some guidance on whether to stick with the dealer recommendation.

Default Notice it gives only mileage, not the time interval.
