Default Rotor upgrade

So I ordered a new set of brakes for my car (99 a6 Quattro 2.8 30v) and the rotors they sent me are 312mm rotors... The current rotors on the car are 288mm.. How does one go about making these fit? I know some later models (2001?) came with the 312s.. Is there a way to use those a6 carriers, or do I have to use TT carriers?

I'm confused about this because several websites offer both size rotors for my model.. I don't really want to send them back but may have to if I'm gonna need new carriers, depending on how much they cost.. Any ideas on how to make these work is appreciated!

The 312's came with the bigger calipers on cars equipped with the sport package you would have to find the different calipers and mounts to make them work not to mention your wheels probably wouldnt fit around the bigger calipers. I would suggest sending them back and getting the right ones

Do the calipers that come on the 312mm rotors require different sized brake pads? The pads they sent me seem to be the same size as the ones on there now, but I'm not 100% on that.

Are these rotors/pads not the same ones I'd buy if I were going to do the a8/TT upgrade?

Calipers are the same for both 312 and 288, made by ATE. You need different carrier. ECS sells TT carriers for about $100.
