Default Rotten AM radio reception?

I actually listen to some AM radio for talk, local sports and weather reports. I have a 2014 A-6 and it is incredible how crummy AM reception is in a $60,000, Bose equipped car. I could probably haul a radio out of a hulk in the junkyard and get better reception. If this is a common problem, it is amazing how Audi never addresses it.

Nice to see nothing has changed in the last 14 years regarding AM reception. My '01 A6 sucked as does my '00 A4. Yes it' a common problem.

That's as good an explanation as any I've heard. It still sucks if you are not close to the tower from which the AM is broadcast. Ford can do it why can't Audi?
