Default Satellite Radio???

I bought an 04 A62.7 T (s-line). I was under the impression it was Satellite Ready. Because it is used the dealer selling it didn't know all the details about the extras that were in it. In any case, when I push the SAT button is reads NO SAT RADIO (or something like that). When I called XM they had no record of the VIN. Is there something I am doing wrong or is it possible the owner of my car didn't get the SAT as an option? Any suggestions would be great!
thanks

I think it needs the actual satellite radio. I THINK it is normally installed in the trunk, under the rear deck or in the compartment in the left rear corner. Look around, you should have the connectors and maybe even a bracket. Does it have an antenna?

My 2000 is NOT satellite ready...

I have the fancy antenna on the roof. Sirius just told me to go to Audi and them "reset" the satellite radio (sure I will slammed for that....)

You probably do not have the unit in the trunk look on the left side there should be an access panel with a tower behind it. Ours said the same thing when you hit the Sat. button.

I believe that the wiring and antenna are in the car, but you have to buy a reciver that goes in the trunk on the left side. The connectors are there for the receiver. That is the setup that I had in my 2006 A4 Cabriolet.

There are many OEM receivers, you have to determine the correct version for your car.

When I installed XM receiver, I also, have to go into the front kick panel by the passenger door to switch a connector from one location to another.
