I have a few questions and I am looking for suggestions

02 Audi A4 1.8T

No navigation, Symphony II radio.

Is this car already wired for satellite? or do I have to get a head unit installed? On my G35 I had to get a XM receiver and I hated how it looked. If I have no choice but to get a receiver, any suggestions on where to mount it? I want it to look some what custom....any help would be appreciated.....

 

I don't think the car is wired for satellite. you can always buy a new head unit that's satellite ready, then all you would have to do is install the additional antenna.

 

if you have a SAT button it's all set up, you just need to buy a unit for the trunk. That's exactly what I did. If you go to the dealer it'l cost close to 10x more than doing it yourself. I bought a unit for 90 on ebay and had it installed for like 80 cause i didn't know what I was doing. The dealer charges 700 alone for the unit. google around for tutorials and units

 

I didn't think satellite was an option for the Symphony II. That's what I have and I don't see anywhere they could put a SAT button. I may be wrong tho.

mine is where the RDS button is I think, guess it came only the 04's+

 

Yeah I think you are right, I need to look and see what the "AS" button below CD means, I though it may have had something to do with satellite. I will research further.

The AS button has to do with the radio presets. I think its auto select or something like that.

 

Yeah I was way off lol

I guess I am going to have to take it to a stereo shop and have them put a whole new unit in dash.
