Have a 2000 2.7T Q. My check engine light is staying on due to a burnt out secondary air pump that aids the cat converter in reducing emissions during cold weather starts, so the dealer says. Has anyone replaced on of these themselves? How much did you get the pump/necessary parts for? Was it difficult to install? If I were looking to have it installed, what do you think would be a reasonable price? Any advice that can be offered would be greatly appreciated.

It is fairly well buried at the rear of the engine, but isnt really all that hard to do

So i assume you have had the car diagnosed at the dealer??
