Follow the link in my signature to my registry page. There, you'll find a link to the official Audi maintenance schedule.

Typical Service Time for this maintenance is 90K. Most guys on the site here get it done 5k before just to play it safe. If you have no proof of the service it is a tough call. Do you wing it hoping it was done, or do you pay a guy to tear it down and take a look see. That is a question you need to ask yourself. If your tensioner starts to fail and you throw time, start looking for a new motor. The cost to tear it down and look is far less than a new motor. Tough call man...good luck!!

Might be worth the money to run a Carfax on this. Sometimes (repeat, sometimes ) service data is reported in sufficient detail for you to tell whether or not a TB change has been done. As noted, the cost of determining this otherwise can be pretty steep, but you do NOT want to neglect this if it hasn't been done. Carfax might be worth the gamble that it can return some info for you if you have no other service info.

Good luck.

Me dealership wants $1400 to do the entire job which includes tensioners, belt, cam shaft seals etc. My indy wants $1000. Just to tear it apart and look will prolly just cost you labor. Shop around for a good indy specializing in European cars and ask how much time it would take to tear down and look. Could get by with a couple hours shop time. Could be more. I would start making some phone calls.
