I'll probably be doing some suspension work in the next month or two. I'm planning on Eibach Pro-Kit - don't really want more than the 1.3" it offers. I'm planning on 18s in the future too and figure it'll be a good fit. Anyway, which shocks? I do have a budget, so coilovers aren't a possibility.

I was thinking Bilstein, but I see they make an HD set and then i guess the other is a 'normal' set. I think both are valved / correct length for stock though - what about lowered cars? Are KYB shocks any good? I want a nice ride still. Finally, how difficult of a job is this? I've never lowered a car before let alone an AWD one. (lowered and raised several GM trucks & lifted a few Jeeps, but that's a whole different world). Is it possible in my garage w/ hand tools & an impact gun?

 

Ived used the pro-kit with Kyb's before. I didnt have a problem. I would suggest you go with Koni or Bilstein, theyr ejust better quality IMO. Im considering getting the Koni coilovers for my A6 in the future.

 

No clue which ones work the best with those springs, but, Bilstein has the HD and the Sport. The Sport is suppose to be the same as the HD (same valving) but .75" shorter to work better with dropped suspension.
