Side blinker issue

Side blinker issue
New to the forums here. So, I went through a car wash and when I got home I noticed the passenger-side side blinker was gone. I went back to the car wash place and we were unable to find the blinker. I want to replace it, so I've looked and looked, and I cannot find a way to access that area so that I can pop in a replacment. No wire connector is visible. I tried under the wheel-well, through the engine bay, and from behind the passenger door. No access points. It's a 1999 A6 Avant Wagon.
The light happened to be burnt out to begin with, so getting this done will be killing two birds with one stone. I don't want to get water damage/rust in that hole due to rain or whatever.
Any help would be very much appreciated!
Thanks, Josh.

They pop in from the outside, as shown in this thread:

I have the fender liner out of my 1999 Avant right now, and I didn't see a way to access the back of that light either, so you'll probably have to go in through the hole with a coat hanger or a piece of welding wire to try to hook the wire harness and pull it back up through. Good luck!

I really appreciate it man. It seems that Audi was like "let's make things very difficult for owners to do DIY projects so they they'll be forced to go to a dealer.", sounds about right from what I've read around here.
Turns out my dad has some long small rod thing which has a grasping 3-prong claw on the end of it that you can grab wire and stuff with. It's long, but small in diameter. I'll let you know if I'm able to get ahold of the wire harness.
UPDATE: I was able to get ahold of the wire harness and the bulb. Bulb is bad so I'll need a new one. Time to order a new blinker fixture as well.
