Default Side Marker Light(s)

One of my Audi oval insignias fell off some months back and since I have time on hand I'm thinking to retrofit both side trim pieces with side marker lights.
I would just run the wires straight into the corner turn signals.

I did a research on the forum and I looked around, but I cannot find the part number for the oval ones. As far as I know, the rectangular model ones are
4B0949127, and 8N0949127A.

I would appreciate if someone has the part number for the oval-shaped ones and wants to share it.
Thanks in advance.

if you find the part # please share as I broke a side marker last week and glued it in.

Jeff,

you suppose to have the "rectangular" shaped marker in your 2000, same number as above (the first one - 4B0949127), as it is identical with what vagcat shows.
Contrarily, if you have the oval-shaped type, you can pop one out and look at the number. For the lights (no pun intended) of me, I cannot find the part number for the oval-shaped ones, and I know some A/S8s have them - I saw it.
If it turns out I cannot dig it out from somewhere until tomorrow, I'll go either with these universal type - but oval LED Hellas (kinda pricey, though), or with the cheaper alternative, the clear ones fitting 95-05 Jettas.
I could buy someting else, like Putcos - even smoked, but I definitely need oval ones to fit them easier/better over those side trims.

I'm not in a frenzy, so I'll keep an eye for that part number and let you know if I came across it.

ECSTuning has some nice rectangular ones with clear plastic (yet a different number):
8E0949127.

In any event, I'll personally end up most certainly with the "Jetta" type, since they come with the wiring, which I need.

Jeff,

I don't know if you're still interested in the topic, but I came across real oval-shaped markers. My "visual memory" was deceiving all along, as I don't think I've seen at any time real OVAL shaped markers on some A6/A8.
They're mostly the "rectangular" shape with rounded corners.

In any event, I just bought t h e s e universal-type ones, made by Trendgear off E-Bay, and I suspect they'll fit just fine in the trim's oval recess.
I already cut the driver side one to fit in a different LED-type marker, but I may just get new trim pieces (about $ 52/piece at the dealer) and fit in these oval markers - if they fit indeed.
They're only $ 10 so it is worth a try, at least.

I finally got around to checking the part # of my side markers. I'm sure you no longer care, but what the hell.

Part #4B0949127

Yeah, those are for you.

I haven't updated the thread since I had to wait for ECS Tuning to send my order.
It's ...complicated
I purchased a pair or LED side markers from WalMart and already cut one trim to fit that in, but then I came across those last ones I posted - the oval ones. That's not a big deal, since the trim didn't have one of the retaining edges good anymore. So I purchased off EBay two used trims that I'll have to paint, and the damn things were sold WITH the Audi oval emblems...lol. However, I'm adamant to put markers in, now.
In any event, I just got today the plastic retaining clips (brand new) for the trim pieces from ECS Tuning, and I'll start cutting them to fit through the markers. I'll post again when I'm done with the install, with pics included.

P.S. I came across some other OEM oval marker for Mercury Mountaineers - part # 1L2Z13368BA - which seems to fit even better the oval recess (they appear to be smaller than the ones off Ebay), but I'm tired of waiting and the local Ford/Mercury dealers have none in stock so I can take a good look at its size. They're about $ 15-20 /piece (depending where you buy it), but since I have no idea how can be mounted (I don't see any screw holes on it) I gave up the idea.

1L2Z-13368-BA is the part number (about $12 each), and the WPT-489 wire/pigtail assembly (about $20)

I said I had no idea how those Ford/Mercury ones would be installed, but I see now in the pic a side plastic clip (second photo).
It would force me to either cut more in the trim than it's necessary, or drill bolt holes in their housing, but I already spent more than I wanted for this little project. At $ 15/piece + $ 20 for the wire/pigtail + shipping... it will add another $ 60 dollars to my "whimsical" expenditure... so I just stayed the course with the Trendgear ovals...
-------
I don't have a Dremel, but I bought a few pieces I thought will help me do the cutting especially. Had to get a "mandrel" that mounts in the drill and holds the various attachments via a screw; cutting wheels; a high speed toothed cutter (for carving); some buffing wheels; and some diamond "points".

At least the driver side trim (with which I started) - the one without the Audi oval insignia - was already in bad shape as some retaining clips were broken. I lost the oval insignia because it has been glued..

Since I had in mind to replace the trim pieces anyway, I sort of had a "freebie shot" at it with a LED generic marker from WalMart:

Since it came out like crap (beyond even a "ricer" look...), I decided to look more for oval ones, and luckily I came across the EBay ones.
This will be pretty much the look:

So today, after the trim mounting clips came from ECS Tuning, I started cutting the trims; at first with a larger drill bit, then with the Dremel carving wheel
