I have a question concerning mirror heating. How does it work? There is a button on the drivers door. In the middle position there is a "mirror heating" sign, but how to turn it on?

When I turn on window heating, mirror heating still doesn't activate.

Not sure what year A6 you have, but it doesn't sound like the C5. Anyways, on the C5 A6, it activates with the rear window defroster I believe. All I know for sure is there is no way to manually turn it on by itself. I'll admit, I disconnected mine a few years ago after it baked my 1st set of mirrors and turned them brown. Replaced them and just didn't hook up the wires for the heater.

Thanks for the answer. Mine is c6 from 2006. I heard also from elsewhere that this cannot be turned on manually.

I think I just have to find someone who would connect mirror heating to rear window heating.
