Default Side mirror question

Hello everyone, I have a 1999 A6 quattro with half of the side mirror covered in brown discoloration on both driver and passenger sides. From what Ive read this is fluid leaking from the auto dim feature of the mirror. I have searched ebay for a low cost replacement, but the ones I have seen is not the the price range Im willing to spend right now.

My question is I have seen replacement pairs heated w/o the auto dim for less than $100, will these work/fit? Thanks!

PS mirror on my son's 2000 A6 had same problem. We just removed the mirror/glass from the housing & the mirror can be separated into 2 pieces. front is clear glass & back is mirror, with the brown liquid sandwiched in between. Slow going with exacto knife can separate the 2. Clean out the brown liquid & reassemble glass & mirror with black silicon. No longer have the anti-dazzle or heated mirror, but didn't really need them anyway. I found this approach the cheapest. Can now finally see much better with this mirror.

My local advance auto had random sizes of stick on hard replacement mirror glass. I just found one of similar but smaller size and that was that. Same as above, no more heated or dimming but at least I can see now.
