Smoke on the Passenger side engine compartment

Smoke on the Passenger side engine compartment
I have a 2001 A6
The check engine light came on a few days ago and I found out that it was the secondary air pump. I have heard that you can replace a fuse or relay and that can fix it or a hose might be clogged? Any suggestions or comments?
The smoke I can see when stopped and the car is running or right after I have shut it down comes from the passenger side. I looked underneath and it looks like there is an oil leak. I have no idea where it would come from. I have been reading other posts on here and some say tightening the valve covers can fix this problem? Suggestions, comments?

Usually the source of the secondary air pump code is related to vacuum hose failure. Do a search for vacuum line/hose and you will find a ton of info.
As for the smoke, you most likely have a leak from the valve cover gasket. It is pretty straight forward DIY. Another suspect oil leak spot is from the cam seals and the tensioner gasket/seals. These are more involved.
