Snow!!
I don't think I've seen the new Liberty's yet. I test drove one a couple years ago - it was nice, had all the sameluxuryfeatures as the Grand Cherokee, but still couldn't compare. The Commander's aren't bad, but I think they're a copy of various Land Rovers. Sort of an LR3-Discovery combo, if you will. lol. Especially with the two moonroofs.
it actually snowed here in iowa pretty good, and i was kind pissed at my car, its a quattro but going around a corner last nightat normal speed the car started to slide to the side, but i got it back to normal by just applying some gas, anyhow mayeb i just have bad tires, or since this is my first AWD car ?
Not sure what to tell you since it's yet to snow here (well, accumulate anyway), and this is my first year with the quattro, as well. One thing I've been warned never to do is let off the gas during a slide, though.
friends, i just want to add something to this topic, and that is, as Firegod originally said... "you are not invincible"
i'm sure you must realize this, but every winter i have seen the same story. Traffic; not from a fwd car or even a rwd, but a 4wd accident... EVERY WINTER. i once saw a Cheyenne smashed into a lamp post in nyc because of this... this.. lack of defensive driving.
just keep it in mind when you drive, don't believe the hype... and be a 4x4 sucker.
p.s. i now live in a very snowy/foggy part of CT and i love my quattro and the edge i have over other drivers, however i do realize its limitations.

I also traded in my 98 Grand Cherokee for my A6!! Mine Grand wasn't stock though! Had a 4.5" lift and 31" tires!! So I had all the ground clearence I needed! Was great in the blizzard we had last year, but 13 mpg was killing me!! I had to fill up every week and it was about $50-$60!! My A6 gets at least 20mpg and fill up every 8-10 days!! Big improvement!! I've been waiting to test the all-wheel drive as well! We had flurries on Monday but was only like 2 inchs and they had the roads pretty clear! Still waiting for a good snow to test it out!!!
AWD helps in the go department, it helps in continuing to go straight, and can assist in making a turn, but remember all cars have the same 4 wheel stop. An AWD hitting an immovable object at 50 MPH has to absorb the same amount of energy as a 2 wheel drive.
Teutonic2.7Tand NH_USA make great points. Take it easy and drive smart and the quattro will treat you well. My wife loves her A6 Quattro, we just had a few inches of snow this weekend and were able to test the Nokian tires. She said they were awesome.
Don't forget these are really heavy cars so going quickly in to and through the corners when its raining or snowing can be an issue. Granted you can accelerate out of the corners very nicely with quattro but going through the corner needs to be handled with care.

Dam i wish i never stored my A6 but i have a Subaru Legacy Wagon...Owns in the snow lol
